Welcome to
le Moulin de la Forge

For hundreds of generations, humans and proto-humans have worked here, shaping the landscape, progressively creating a place with a sense of time.

They saw water running and they eventually thought of harnessing that power....

They harvested the wood and used fire, for cooking, for firing up bread-ovens, or stills....

They touched the earth, used the flint for tools, the stone to build, found clay and made pottery, bricks, tiles, found ironstone and, with lime and charcoal, smelted then forged iron....

Now, in that same valley, we are creating an environment where our guests can feel at home and have access to the necessary information and equipment to see and interpret the natural history, the landscape and the imprint of humankind all around.
