Only one of the 'forest in the sky' left to pollard... now completed so this view will never be the same again.
The branches coming off were 41 years old... not 10 to 25!
The trees will have a good hundred years of extra growth now!
The diameters on the main trunks suggest that they've been part of the landscape for around 250 years
